1. “The Girl from Mani” is one of the few co-productions between Greece and United Kingdom.
2. The film was Antzela Gerekou’s debut. She is a Greek actress and politician. She served as MP for the Hellenic Parliament from 2004 to 2012 with the centre-left Party “PASOK” and right-wing Party “Nea Demokratia”. Currently serving as President of Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) from 2019.
3. Alex Hyde-White, the romantic lead, is known to be the first actor to portray Dr. Reed Richards AKA Marvel’s Mr Fantastic in a live-action film (1994’s The Fantastic Four).
4. Legendary Greek actor Giorgos Foundas stars in one of his finest film roles. Giorgos Foundas was the only Greek actor ever considered for the part of James Bond. He was chosen to star in “Her Majesty’s Secret Service” until he eventually resigned due to his poor english.
